Mobile notary

We come to you, in person. Offices, homes, hospitals, care facilities and jails across the seven metro counties. The notary fee is quoted as its own line. Before we notarize, we tell every signer each fee for the appointment and give each signer a written list of them, including any fee your firm or another person is paying.

We cannot give legal advice

We are not attorneys and cannot give legal advice. We cannot tell you which court to file in, what your deadline is, whether service was sufficient, or what a document means. Those are questions for an attorney or for the court's self-help center.

Fees in writing

Colorado requires notary fees to be disclosed in writing. Every quote lists the notary fee (statutory) separately from travel, after-hours and facility-visit fees. The notary fee is capped, per document. Travel, after-hours and facility fees are not capped and are charged as listed below.

What it costs

Fees

Notary fee (statutory): $15.00 per document. This is the fee for notarizing a document and it is capped. One document is one fee, however many people sign it. We cannot charge more than the cap, and our system does not allow it.

Travel is separate and is not capped. $45 for the first 15 miles, then $1.00 a mile beyond that. A facility visit to a hospital, care facility or jail is $95 and replaces the travel fee rather than adding to it, because those visits take longer than the drive.

After hours is $25. That means before 8:00 am, after 7:00 pm, or on a weekend.

For example, three documents at an office within 15 miles cost $45 in travel plus $45 in notary fees, for a total of $90. You see that itemized before you book.

Remote online notarization

We do not offer remote online notarization. If you need a remote session, please use a notary who offers it.

What to have ready

The unsigned document, unless the act is an acknowledgment of a signature you have already made. Government-issued photo identification for every signer: a passport, driver’s license or state ID that is current or expired no more than a year. If you do not have one, tell us before booking and we will tell you what else may work. Fill in every blank in the document first; a notary cannot notarize a document with blanks. Any witnesses the document calls for, with their own identification.

The notary records the act in their own paper journal, which is the official record. We do not store your identification number in our system.

What we cannot do

We cannot tell you which notarial act your document needs, whether your document is complete, or whether notarization makes it effective. A notary’s role is to verify the identity of the person signing.

We cannot notarize for a signer who is not physically present, who has no acceptable identification, or who does not appear to understand what they are signing. We will not notarize a document we prepared, one we have an interest in, or one that names the notary, the notary’s spouse or civil union partner, a parent, grandparent or other ancestor, a child, grandchild or other descendant, or a sibling. If we have to decline, we will tell you at the appointment. We do not charge the notary fee in that case, but the travel fee for the trip still applies.

We are not attorneys and cannot give legal advice.

Booking

Pick a slot in the order form and you will see the itemized quote, notary fee on its own line, before you pay. Before we notarize, we tell every signer each fee for the appointment and give each signer a written list of them, including any fee your firm or another person is paying. We confirm by email, and by text if you opted in to texts.

Moving or cancelling

You can reschedule at no charge until we set out.

You can cancel at any time before the notarization. A cancellation takes effect when we receive it. If you cancel before we set out, you receive a full refund less the $5.00 cancellation fee. Once we are on the way, we keep the travel or facility-visit fee and any after-hours fee, and the notary fee is refunded, because nothing was notarized. On an invoiced order the same amounts apply: we credit the rest on the invoice and bill only what we keep. Section 6 of the terms of service has the rule in full.
