SMS terms
These terms are between you and Kestrel Legal Support Operations LLC. Effective Oct 30, 2026. Version 2026-10-30.
We are not attorneys and cannot give legal advice. We cannot tell you which court to file in, what your deadline is, whether service was sufficient, or what a document means. Those are questions for an attorney or for the court's self-help center.
This page covers the text messages Kestrel Legal Support Operations LLC sends about an order.
The program
Kestrel Legal Support Operations LLC order notifications. Transactional text messages telling you that an order has been confirmed, that we are on our way, that it is out for service, has been served or could not be served, that a proof is ready, that an appointment is booked or confirmed, that a court run is complete, or that an order has been cancelled.
Once you have opted in, we may also reply by text to messages you send us about your order. If you ask about your order’s status, we may answer automatically with its current status; any other reply is sent by a person who has read your message. Replies are in addition to the notifications counted under message frequency.
It is not a marketing program. We do not send offers.
Consent
We text a number only after the person holding it has opted in.
The consent box in the order form is unchecked by default. Next to it, it says:
Text me updates about this order from Kestrel Legal Support Operations LLC at [your number]. Message frequency varies by order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
Beside the box the form says: “Enter your own mobile number. We text only the person who opts in.”
Links to these SMS terms and to our privacy policy sit beside the box.
Consent is not a condition of buying anything. Every service we offer works the same way with email only.
Right after you opt in, we send one text confirming it:
Kestrel Legal Support Operations LLC: order texts on. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Message frequency
It varies by order. A typical process service order produces three to seven messages: confirmation, on our way, out for service, the result, and the proof. An order that needs a quote first, or that is cancelled, produces one or two more.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier, not us, decides what a message costs you.
STOP, START and HELP
Reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting you. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE and OPT OUT do the same thing. You will get one confirmation that you are opted out, and nothing after that.
Reply START or UNSTOP to start again.
Reply HELP or INFO for a reply telling you what this is and how to reach us.
A keyword works on its own when it is the whole message. If you ask us to stop in other words, such as “please don’t text me,” we treat it as a request to stop and stop texting you.
Opting out stops texts. It does not stop the order, and it does not stop email.
What a text from us contains
Order notifications contain only four things: our name, the order reference, a short status phrase, and a tracking link. The opt-in confirmation and our replies to HELP and STOP contain our name and contact details instead. A reply to a message you send us is about your order, and follows the same rule as every other text we send:
Never a case number. Never a party name. Never an address. Never anything out of a document. For your security, those details are kept in the client portal, which you sign in to with a single-use link emailed to you.
The tracking link in each text shows the status of the order.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Neither delivery nor timing is guaranteed. A carrier can delay, block or drop a message for reasons outside our control.
This is why every notification also goes out by email, and why signed proofs live in the client portal rather than only in a message. If a text does not arrive, your documents are still in the portal.
Do not rely on a text message to know that a deadline has been met.
Cost
We do not charge for text messages. Your carrier may.
Privacy
See the privacy policy. We do not share your number with anyone for marketing, and we do not share your opt-in or consent with any third party except the providers that deliver our texts. Opting out is recorded as a change of status on your number, not as a deletion, because that record is how we make sure we do not text you again.
